Es Mercadal

Es Mercadal is in the centre of Minorca. The village is set at the base of Toro Mountain (the island's highest) and a visit to the Virgen del Toro (Minorca's patron saint) Sanctuary is well worthwhile.

Escalona

Located on a plateau above a steep slope on the right bank of the river Alberche, the origins of Escalona date back more than 2,500 years.

Espot

Located at the gates of the Aigüestortes National Park, Espot is one of the most beautiful towns in the region of Pallars Sobirà. The Espot Esquí ski resort is equipped with the most advanced facilities, and an interesting array of leisure activities and possibilities.

Estella-Lizarra

The Camino de Santiago, a World Heritage Site, passes through Navarre and leads us to Estella-Lizarra.

Estepona

Estepona, on the world-famous Costa del Sol, conserves all the charms of a typical Andalusian town, with its peaceful squares bedecked with colourful flowerpots and little white houses. It is also a holiday resort offering all the latest modern amenities, golf clubs and sporting and recreational areas.

Esterri d'Aneu

Mountains and valleys outline the landscape that surrounds Esterri D’Àneu, in the region of Pallars Sobirà, Lerida. This natural setting is excellent for taking excursions to discover the Aigüestortes National Park.

Ezcaray

Sitting in the Sierra de la Demanda mountains, on the banks of the river Oja, the town of Ezcaray and its surrounding area are as ideal for those who seek rest and peace and quiet as they are for mountaineering fans.

Fataga

In 1987, in the area surrounding Fataga, the Ayagaures y Pilancones Nature Reserve was opened.

Feria

Because of it being so picturesque, the town was declared a National Historic Site in 1970.

Fermoselle

This beautiful town, declared Property of Cultural Interest, is in the heart of the Arribes del Duero Nature Reserve, stands on a hill, 64 kilometres from the city of Zamora.

Ferreries

Located only 141 metres above sea-level, this town is the highest one in Minorca.

Ferrol

The sea has been a vital constant in the growth of this town, first as a fishing village and later as a military stronghold.

Figueres

Figueres, county capital of Alt Empordà, extends over a river plain situated inland in the province of Girona.

Fornells

Its bay is an excellent area for sailing.

Fregenal de la Sierra

Carefully conserved popular architecture and an interesting list of artistic and architectural features make this a fine example of the typical mountain villages in the south of Badajoz. Its old quarter has the Property of Cultural Interest designation.

Frías

The origins of the town of Frías date back to the 9th century. It later experienced significant growth when, in the 12th century, Alfonso VIII repopulated the valley to reinforce the border between Castile and Navarre. The town centre preserves its medieval layout and atmosphere.

Frigiliana

Located on the slope of the Almijara mountain range, it offers one of the most spectacular views of the Costa del Sol. The structure and physiognomy of its old town respond to the layout of the Arab period.

Frómista

The capital of Palencia's Romanesque legacy, the town of Frómista is a major communications hub and a staging post on the Pilgrim's Road to Santiago de Compostela.

Frontera

This town seems to be a part of a different island.

Fuendetodos

Fuendetodos is the village where the brilliant artist, Francisco de Goya, was born.

Fuengirola

Located on the Costa del Sol, Fuengirola is a city with a rich Andalusian flavour which offers an extensive stretch of coastline covered with magnificent beaches.

In the Alagón valley, province of Caceres, we find the town of Galisteo, declared a Historic-Artistic Site.

The historic town of Garachico was once the main port of Tenerife.

Guernica

The town sits in the valley of the river Oka, which flows into the Gernika estuary. Very close by is the Urdaibai Nature Reserve, which UNESCO has declared to be a Biosphere Reserve.

Gerri de la Sal

Gerri de la Sal is the administrative capital of the Baix Pallars region.

Getaria

Getaria is located on the coast of Guipuzcoa. It’s a quaint fishing village and the birthplace of distinguished figures like Juan Sebastián Elcano and Cristóbal Balenciaga.

Gijón

Girona

Known as the ‘City of the Four Rivers’, Girona's historic quarter is dominated by medieval buildings and Roman, Arab and Hebrew influences.

Graus

Graus offers travellers a town centre full of historical vestiges. It was the place where the intellectual Joaquín Costa lived and died.

Grazalema

It is the highest and most mountainous municipality in the province of Cadiz, as well as the rainiest in the Iberian Peninsula. It is located in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, and has become a tourist destination linked to the splendour of its natural surroundings. Its historic quarter has the Property of Cultural Interest designation.

Guadalajara

Watered by the River Henares, Guadalajara has a long history linked to the career of the Dukes of Infantado in the capital of La Alcarria.

Guadalest

Guadalest, sitting on a rock at more than 500 m above sea level, overlooks the reservoir that supplies water to the La Marina Baixa region.

Guadalupe

Located in the region of Las Villuercas in Cáceres province, Guadalupe is a historic village, with cobbled streets and traditional architecture, including heritage buildings like the Royal Monastery of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Guadamur

It is around 12 kilometres from Toledo and contains an important palace-fortress from the 15th century, which has been perfectly restored and furnished in an attempt to recreate the original period decoration.
