A kaleidoscope of stories
The Casa de los Deanes and the church of Santo Tomé form a cultural hub in the Nalvillos square, Ávila, which aims to gather some of the aspects of Ávila's culture.
In the Casa de los Deanes, a 16th century Renaissance palace, you can see the permanent exhibition divided into three sections: the first is dedicated to rural culture in Ávila, reflecting the blend of art and traditional activities. The second presents an overview of the province's history, from prehistory to the 19th century. The City section exhibits archaeological items discovered from urban excavation sites. Moreover, the part of the warehouse of the Church of Santo Tomé that can be visited exhibits Roman stone boar sculptures, mosaics and funerary steles, as well as monument inscriptions or architectural and funerary elements from the Middle and Modern Ages.
