Its functions include acquiring, researching, preserving, communicating and exhibiting collections of historical, artistic, scientific and technical value related to naval activity. Its collections come mainly from Cadiz, the Naval Museum of Madrid and private collections, which are exhibited in 15 rooms. The rooms dedicated to Underwater Archaeology, Marine Votive Offerings, Religious Objects and the Folklore Room are of particular note. There is also a room with monographic topics that are periodically updated.
