The Spanish 19th Century


It recreates the artistic, literary and customary atmosphere of the Romantic era.

The museum is home to impressive collections of 19th-century paintings, with works by artists including Francisco de Goya, Federico de Madrazo and Antonio Esquivel; beautiful landscapes by Genaro Pérez Villaamil; genre portraits by Leonardo Alenza and examples by romantic painters such as Valeriano Bécquer. There are also period furniture and objects such as pianos and porcelain on display.
