Agricultural life in the late Roman Empire

The museum is located next to the remains of a house and a stately home dating back to this time, both of which complement the museum and can also be visited.

The Almenara-Puras Roman Villas Museum offers the opportunity to learn details of rural life during the Roman era in a fun and educational way. This is a one of a kind cultural-tourist centre in Spain, made up of different spaces that offer visitors an insight into the rural culture of the Roman Empire. The tour is rounded off by displays, audiovisuals, explanatory panels, reproductions and pieces from the archaeological site. Activities for schoolchildren are also offered, as well as a themed playground, created for play.

In addition to the museum itself, another of the buildings shows the recovered remains of an ancient stately home dating back to the 4th century AD, with its ancient rooms, courtyards, mosaics and some of the original paintings from the time.
