Cantabria

Most of the 2,600 pieces on display in this museum, which occupies the ground floor of the Mercado del Este in Santander, belong to the period between the Upper Paleolithic and the Iron Age.

There is no shortage of objects from the Roman era, coming mainly from Julióbriga and Castro Urdiales, the ancient Flavióbriga. From the medieval collection, the ivory belt brooch from Santa María de Hito stands out.
