The museum of Asturian memory
It was created in 1968 to disseminate its people's testimonies and to help visitors learn more about the traditional society of Asturias and preserve its memory. It occupies a large area where you can visit a pavilion from Expo 92 or the Casa de los González de Vega, which houses an exhibition entitled “Photography in Asturias, 1850-1965” and a photo library with more than a million images. Finally, this is where the Bagpipe Museum is located. Visitors can visit the Casa de los Valdés (17th century), where the Asturias Sound Library is located and also check out other popular buildings, such as the Casa Campesina (model of a traditional house), hórreos (traditional raised granaries) or pavilions with agricultural tools and means of transport.
