Church of Santiago del Arrabal

The church of Santiago el Mayor or Santiago del Arrabal is considered one of the best Mudejar temples in Toledo. It is built of brick and courses of masonry. The church tower dates back to the 12th century and has a square plan. The church dates back to the 13th century and was built under the patronage of Sancho Capelo, King of Portugal. It has three naves, with a double-pitched roof and triple apse, the exterior of which is decorated with a double row of multi-lobed openings. It has three facades composed of horseshoe arches. Inside, it houses a 14th-century Mudéjar plaster pulpit, several tombstones and the main altarpiece is of the 16th-century Plateresque style.
