The Nájera chronicles

Festivity of Tourist Interest
La Rioja

This medieval spectacle takes place in the Monasterio de Santa María la Real square in the town of Nájera (La Rioja), as part of the Nájera Festival.

Every July since 1969, more than 200 local actors and actresses play kings, queens, princes, bishops, abbots, nobles, farmers and other characters. Music and light create a unique environment in which stories emerge that fuse fantasy and reality, immersing the spectator in the Nájera of the Middle Ages. Another attraction of the festival is the wonderful costumes, created by a sewing group made up of local women.
